Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to the winners of these two prestigious scholarships: (1) The Rausch-Lewis Scholarship and (2) Jeanette Rowe Memorial Scholarship. And, thanks to the scholarship funders who make it possible for the ISU Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to recognize some of our outstanding students.
Rausch-Lewis Scholarship
The Rausch-Lewis Scholarship is funded by Diane and Robert Lewis. Undergraduate students with a major in Dietetics or graduate students in the MS Nutrition/Dietetic Internship are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0, with preference going to students with a 3.5 GPA or higher. Applicants must be involved in community activities relating to nutrition, as well as demonstrate outstanding accomplishments and character.
Sari Landers, BS
Sari Landers is a graduate student in the MS/Dietetic Internship program and Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. She grew up in southeastern Idaho and plans to stay in the area to practice dietetics upon graduation. Studying nutrition has been one of her passions for as long as she can remember. Her other hobbies include riding horses, lifting weights, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Erin Huber
Erin Huber was born and raised in Northern Idaho. She transferred from BYU-Idaho to the ISU BS in Dietetics. At BYU, Erin worked in the Campus Wellness Center. She is passionate about health care and excited to continue learning at ISU as she anxiously pursues her dream to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Ultimately, Erin wants to help improve the lives of others. She enjoys being outdoors, backpacking, and horseback riding.
Alison LaMont, BS
Alison LaMont is the second oldest of six children. A recent graduate of the ISU BS in Dietetics program, she’ll start the ISU MS/Dietetic Internship program in August 2024. She’s been passionate about nutrition and dietetics for several years. Her interest piqued when she noticed how foods not only affected her physically but also mentally. Alison believes that dietetics is an important field and feels fortunate to be starting her MS/DI.
Jeanette Rowe Memorial Scholarship
The Jeanette Rowe Memorial Scholarship is awarded through the Beta Rho Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U) National Honor Society. Phi U recognizes students in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences that are in the top 35% of their class, exhibit potential for professional and community leadership, demonstrate a spirit of service, and exemplify character through personal integrity and professional attitude.
Tabitha Butikofer
Tabitha Butikofer hails from Blackfoot, Idaho. She is a senior majoring in the ISU BS in Dietetics program. Tabitha’s goal is to pursue a career as a Sports Dietitian. She was a competitive cheerleader for the entirety of her teenage years, which is where her interest in nutrition started. Passions and hobbies include cheerleading, swing/country line dancing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, food and nutrition :)
Alison LaMont, BS

Ingrid Sandoval Mendoza
Ingrid Sandoval Mendoza is a Latina first-generation student in the ISU TRIO McNair Scholars program. A transfer student from the College of Southern Idaho, she is currently pursuing a double-major—a BS in Dietetics and a BA in Spanish for Health Professions. She envisions opening a private practice in a rural community in Idaho, helping Hispanic/Latino people struggling with eating disorders.
Kristi Steidley
Kristi Steidley is a wife and mother of two. She is a senior at Idaho State University seeking a degree in secondary education with endorsements in family and consumer science and health. Her desire is to learn and teach important life skills alongside children and youth.
Madison Zweifel, BS
Madison Zweifel was born and raised in the Treasure Valley area. She spent three years at BYU-Idaho and transferred to ISU before her senior year to pursue a BS in Dietetics. Madison starts in the MS/Dietetic Internship program this August at ISU. Once finished, she hopes to work as a NICU dietitian.
